Can we make a tag?

SPECIFICALLY for Nashville, the city in Tennessee? #Nashville is nearly entirely posts from the television show with the same name, and #BNA (our airport) is full of before and after pictures.

#615? Suggestions?

I feel like a superhero when I reunite an image with its source. Find this lovely print on Etsy here!

Anyone else notice the inadvertent peace sign made by Google Maps where the new roundabout is by Music City Center? I wish they would update their images to show the green roof!
Edit: Ah! Check out the time lapse of the construction (it’s at the top of this page)! I’m enjoying watching it and noting the changes in landscape in front of the Country Music Hall of Fame.

The 2013 Southern Living Idea House Groundbreaking Ceremony. Pretty cool for the city of Nashville to host!  Read more here:

This is less than a mile down the road from us! I’m looking forward to seeing how things turn out.

hipzipper:

Good Morning!  I’m Trisha and I run things around the Hip Zipper.
Hip Zipper has been in business since 1999.  During that time, we’ve had a modest collection of temporary locations.  Our first location in 1999 was at the present home of Wonders on Woodland, across the street from the post office.  Then we were tucked neatly behind Beyond the Edge on 11th St. for a few years.  Then, in 2005, the space on Forrest (in between Red Door East and the 5 Spot) became available, and the rest is history.
A while back, Mason spoke of a field trip we all went on.  We were harvesting ideas from some of our favorite Nashville Boutiques for what to do and perhaps not to do, to make improvements to the inside of our shop.
Since then, we’ve been busy having major shelving custom-built by Brian Bequette of Sneaky Ninja.  We’ve moved whole sections of the shop around, removing fixtures that we no longer use, trying to open the space up, making it easier to navigate.  We hope to make it easier to shop…
We’re not done.   It’s a work in progress…
But tonight, we’re having our Holiday Open House from 6:00-9:30 to show the ‘Big Reveal.’    This is in conjunction with the rest of the 5 Points Area shops in East Nashville. They are also having their open houses during that time!
We’ll offer refreshments, two bins of FREE  ’as-Is’  vintage items, a store FULL of newly-added vintage stock…
… and from 6:00-9:30, the entire store will be discounted at 25% OFF the regular price.
Thank you for your support.  Thank you for your feedback.  We wouldn’t be in business without the encouragement of customers and friends and the neighborhood in which we conduct business.

Sharing the local small business love!

I don’t know what I like most about Redbuds: their leaves, blooms, or beautiful black trunks. I’m going to go with D) All of the above.

Nashville Nashty 2013 will be March 1st - 3rd. Mark your calendars! Soon you’ll be able to register.

Reblogging for the morning crowd. Mark your calendar, the Internet is taking over Music City March 1-3, 2013!

Even though this is right at the start of Spring, I’m going to do my best to be there with some seed swag or t-shirts or somethin’.

Opening next month, Zeitgeist Gallery in Nashville will show works by Nashville-based photographer Caroline Allison. Caroline is an influence and mentor of mine, and I was lucky enough to study under her during my senior thesis dissertation in the Department of Art and Art History at Sewanee while our tenured professor Pradip Malde was on sabbatical. I’m excited to see some of her new work focusing on themes of communication.

Reblogging because Caroline was a teacher of mine at Watkins, she was the first person to put a Hasselblad in my hands, and she’s just an all around great gal. I’ll be seeing this for sure.

FIONA APPLE blew tons of minds last night, especially mine.
Images shot for the Nashville Scene, will be up on the Nashville Cream on Monday.

Can’t not reblog this. Look at the glow of her skirt on the piano. Wonderful shot, Diana.

HOW AWESOME WAS FIONA APPLE?

And how annoyed were you with the entirety of the audience? Seriously, for being residents of Music City, some folks out there have no etiquette or respect for live music. I had a rollicking good time though, and it was a fantastic belated birthday present.

Taking photos of bugs post-sunset isn’t easy. They get gun-shy when you’re standing in your front yard in the dark with a camera.
