We’re using solar powered electric netting to graze our hens now. It may look a little over the top but we do have a few foxes and badgers who have been on the prowl of late but also it enables us to use/graze the chickens where we need them - healthier for the chooks and the land/pasture. We have a design for a permanent strawyard for the hens but we won’t start work on that for another few months so right now the chooks are more mobile, getting moved around the farm wherever we need land conditioned for growing crops/fruit trees.
