If you’re like me and you love the idea of getting a sneak peek into some of the most beautiful, local gardens, be sure to check out The Garden Conservancy’s website (www.gardenconservancy.org) to learn about their Open Days program which runs from spring through the fall annually.
I recently attended a few of their private garden tours in nearby Marin, and WOW was I impressed by what I saw: a mind-blowing collection of succulents, bromeliads and palms at the late Don Worth’s home in Mill Valley. (Don Worth was responsible for creating the beautiful Echeveria ‘Afterglow’, among many other creative achievements.) I wish I’d taken more pictures! (Tip: remember to charge your phone/camera before leaving the house, no derr.)
If you live in the Bay Area, check out this link to see the upcoming East Bay gardens that will be open July 22. Or, check and see if there’s something closer to your own part of the country by re-filtering with new criteria.
The images above are an assortment of container garden photos I’ve taken at recent tours, shows and sales, including the Open Days Marin event. (Click any of them to see a larger version.)
